Hey everybody, I'm excited to be recording the first episode of the All Things Fishing

podcast this week. This week I just wanted to talk a bit about the gear I use. Like most

people I have a couple of rods, a reel on a tackle box, and some extra line. That's

about it. So the three main rods I'm currently using, out of the three of them, I use one the most.

It is the Silstar Nova. It's an old bait casting model. I got it used from Crazy Horse fishing rods.

They do custom rods. They're really cool. Custom rods are a bit more expensive. I got this one. It's just an old used one. It works really well.

I really like it. An awesome drag system. Yeah.

The one I use next most is the South Bend R2F. It is an old spinning reel. It has a really good

drag system as well. I got it for free actually because it was missing the crank. I got a

replacement part for the crank. It works

really well now. I really like it. The one I use least out of all of them is the Zebco 404

spin casting reel. It came with the rod as well. The reel, there's nothing wrong with the reel.

The rod, the only reason I don't use it,

is because the rod got snapped in half by a big catfish. I cleaned up the hole and I use it some

now, but not much. Out of all of them, like I said, the one I use most is a Silstar Nova. I just

like bait casting. I really like spinning reels as well.

On all three of my rods and reels, I have the same type of line.

It's spider wire, 20 pound braided line.

It is not really good for the Zebco 404, because it is spin casting, the spider wire braided line. It's not really good for the Zepco 404 because it is spin casting the spider wire braided line

it's not really meant for spinning or for spin cast it's mostly just meant for spinning

reels and open spool reels and like spinning and bait casting like that but um it does not work on the
