Today on the podcast is the coolest coach in the NCAA Jared Schatz!
Coach Schatz is an Assistant Coach at The University of Notre Dame where his focus is on the Men's Program.
Before Notre Dame, Coach Schatz served as the Operations Assistant for the Florida State menâs cross country and track and field teams. And then before FSU, he served as the Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field Coach for the University of Central Missouri from August of 2016-May of 2019.
Coach Schatz received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Messiah College. At Messiah, he was a four-year member of the varsity menâs cross country team and track & field where he was Division III All-American in the 3000m steeplechase, a three-time NCAA Cross Country/Track & Field championship qualifier, a ten-time First Team All-Conference Cross Country/Track & Field honors, a three-time Middle Atlantic Conference Champion and record holder in the 3000m steeplechase (8:55.34).Â
In today's conversation, Coach Schatz takes me through his journey in sport, being a young coach in the NCAA, what it takes to be great, qualities of the best runners in the country, what makes the Notre Dame team special, and so much more!
I sincerely loved this conversation and think you will, too. Take the time to listen and be enlightened by the one and only Coach, Jared Schatz!Â
