0:32.0

Welcome Eric.

0:33.2

Oh thank you so much that introduction was lovely I appreciate that so much but

0:37.8

most definitely I'm glad to be here. Well we really appreciate your time and I wanted to first, this is a question I, some people I really want to know the answer to which is you're obviously a free thinker and I'm thinking you've always been that way but when I read

0:56.2

your bio and some of the things that you've said that you weren't always a Libertarian and I guess for me Libertarian goes hand in hand with pulling back the curtain a little bit seeing some truth that other people don't see and I just want to know if you had an aha moment maybe like a little bit where he came from and how you how you

1:15.2

open your eyes and other people did not.

1:17.4

Yeah, it's a great question and tell the story all the time about how of course I grew up a

1:23.0

leftist I'm not as you know keep that a secret or anything I grew up a

1:27.1

hardcore leftist and I was still stuck in this definitely this like racial kind of

1:32.1

box of nonsense and I remember entering college definitely this

1:33.2

like racial kind of box of nonsense and I remember entering college I went to the University of Memphis directly out of high school and

I went down this sort of rabbit hole of economics, right? And at the time I was so again still stuck in

1:47.2

this racial box and I want to know about the black economist of course and thank God I came across the likes of both Thomas Soil as well as Dr.

1:57.7

Walter Williams. And it completely changed my life. It's one of those things where you know you read something such as the first page of really basic economics by by Thomas Soil and talking about the first law of economics and

2:16.0

scarcity and the first law of politics is completely ignore that.

2:21.0

Just little stuff like that and learning about economics from more so the standpoint of okay, yes, you know, it's not just numbers and playing around with graphs or anything like that. It's more about, you know, this human interaction.

2:38.0

And obviously that set me down the rabbit hole of the Chicago school and then going to Austrian and once I hear Rothbard there was no turning around from that.

2:46.1

You went the full Rothbard. Yeah, I went full Roth, but it was never really, there was really not that long of a grace period at all of me discovering that stuff because again when I say I went down a rabbit hole I was like obsessed with this stuff and and wanting to know more about how the world worked from an economic standpoint and learning about some of the other other you know like again the more awesome with the high act turns in the Rothbard and all of that and it's just I learned so much in that short period of time and it's one of those things it's like Thomas
