I'm Mark Stephen and he's you and McElwreath.

Yeah, we're looking at community land ownership in Scotland.

This is subject dear to our hearts.

We've covered it extensively over the decades.

It started more or less

on the island of Egg, when they managed to buy their island from the owner, and it's just

developed in Scotland for an amazing rate.

It's not so much a political move as a social move, because, I mean, as Ian rightly points

out, this has all happened within the last 20 years, and some of it has actually been quite extraordinary.

Last week, a conference was held in Stirling to assess the progress or otherwise of land reform.

It is rapidly becoming part of our rural future.

And it's interesting how it's changing because one of the things they're looking at now is

the community buyout of things like unused or abandoned land.

Yeah, the conference you're talking about was in Stirling and the board of the Community Land, Scotland,

were meeting so before the ink was even dry, I grabbed them,

just to try and get a sense of what's been achieved in the last few years.
