On February 4, 2016, local police engaged Park Chicago were called to do a well-being check after the co-workers of a man who lived in the home,

no Jr. Martinez, had uncharacteristically not shown up at work since February 2nd.

After receiving no answer, police entered the house and, much to their horror,

found the bodies of five family members lying

stabbed to death inside of their home. Scattered throughout the entire house in an attack so

brutal police believed there had to be multiple assailants were the bodies of 62-year-old

No Martinez Sr. Rasaro Martinez, his 58-year-old wife, their 38-year-old son, No Martinez,

his 32-year-old sister, Maria Martinez, who had been shot rather than stabbed like the rest of their

family, and her son's Leonardo Cruz, 13, and Alexis Cruz, 10.

Upon further investigation, police found that each of the victims, with the exception of Maria Martinez, had been stabbed with at least three different bladed weapons being

used and beaten prior to their death.
