And now, here's Andrew. God knows your situation better than you do. You don't need to tell God what the doctors have said.

You don't need to tell God what your husband or wife have said,

what your boss has said, what the problem is.

You know, it's like most people in their mind picture this desk in heaven

where God's got millions of requests,

and you know that he's swamped and it might take months for

him to get to your request and so you got to tell him how, God, this is really urgent. You need to get

to this one quick and you have to inform God so that hopefully he'll put yours to the top of the list

and then stamp approved on it. You may not use that mental picture,

but that's about the way that most people think

is that for some reason God is bogged down.

It might take months for it to work

unless you let him know that this is really urgent.

That's not the purpose of prayer.

Prayer is not to inform poor, misinformed God about how bad

your situation is. Again, if you were to extract this from most people's prayer, telling about

what your problem is and letting God know how bad it really is, if you were to subtract that

for most people's prayer, you wouldn't have much left. That occupies a big percentage
