Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff, real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, in the murder of Sunshine Stewart, it's just a horrific crime.

And what really bothers me about this is they've just today named, by name, the male who's 17 years old, who did this murder.

And in the arrest affidavit, he's named, his name is

Devin Young. And he was actually staying in the McMack campground. So the potential that he knew

or had stalked Sunshine Stewart is very real. And what really bothers me is he's 17 years old,

but he's going to be 18, apparently, in September. And they are treating him with such

kid gloves like this child. He's no child. He was old enough to murder this woman. He's old

enough to be charged as an adult.

This is so, so disturbing.

And, you know, I keep hearing, oh, this young man, this child,

he killed this 48-year-old woman, you know.

And apparently, he confessed to it.

And I'm sure that the underlying crime,

I'm not going to sort of conjecture right now,

but I think it probably had something to do with a sexual assault.

And we didn't know what the cause of death was

for a couple of days.

Now we do know that it was blunt

trauma and asphyxia, which I predicted would be the cause of death before they even found

Sunshine Stewart's body. So just absolutely horrific that this is occurring. And as I I said they are treating him with such
