Colitis, aka. Alterative colitis, is the most common type of what's known as inflammatory

bowel disease. This is where there's inflammation, autoimmunity, and this can eventually

form damage or even ulcers to that mucus membrane of your intestinal tract. And how this tends to form

is firstly in the rectum, and this would be known technically as proctitis, and then in a

continual fashion can migrate or progress to also include the left side of the colon,

and then eventually, if it gets quite severe, can impact the entire cold.

This is similar but different from another type of inflammatory bowel disease known as Crohn's.
