This is an episode I recorded largely last weekend over the weekend and obviously this past weekend

the tragedy that occurred the death of Kobe Bryant is daughter Gigi John Altabelli.

Carriel Altabelli, their daughter Alyssa Christina Malzer, Sarah Chester, daughter Payton, the pilot.

There's nine people that died in a really tragic helicopter crash and

you know if there ever is a pop culture icon it's one that doesn't need a last name and that's Kobe and like I don't know a ton about basketball and I didn't even follow him closely but

a tragedy is a tragedy a loss is a loss and I know people are nitpicking all over the place about how people address it and

where and in what context and

you know I don't know there's never a right way to do this and I always feel like I just always worry that people are gonna be like

worry I'm dropping irrelevant thoughts and prayers but honestly this shook me and honestly and it has to do with like children especially like I

can't it cuts you and like

I don't know I just think we all worry like about seeming tone-deaf or weird but it's like not about us like why are we doing that like if you feel something

feel it if you want to say something say something and I just wanted to say like I think this is incredibly sad and

incredibly tragic especially involving children and it just absolutely

knocked the wind out of I think all of us and it's like hard for me to even listen to my own episode now that like

recording it after this and I don't know how to do or say anything perfectly but I just wanted to tell you how I felt and

I also think of these episodes as like time capsules and sometimes they're evergreen but oftentimes

whatever I put in these episodes when you go back and listen it it's a it's a

reviving what we were thinking about and caring about at the time that might have been a passing news story and if any small way

that contributes to legacy I just want to remind people to remember everybody involved in not just Kobe and

that's just it's just a sobering reminder of how quickly things change truly and I hope that any

way anybody feels like expressing their feelings or thoughts toward it don't let anybody
