Matt is a dedicated runner, former basketball player and coach, and is the host to a great podcast called The Rambling Runner.

In this episode, we chat a lot about hoops, running, parenting, and of course, podcasting.

Matt's show is taking off and averaging around 150,000 downloads a month.

He is also starting to do live podcasts, so if you're running the Cal International Marathon or

Oh my gosh, Matt. We are jumping right in. I am just fine, but can I just tell you? First of all,

I'm pumped that you're on C-Tali Ron. Second of all, my volume was all the way down on my microphone.

For 20 minutes, people, I've been trying, like, okay, this is my motto in life is the gun goes off when the race time is, you know, when they say the race time is, the gun goes off unless there's a delay in rain or, you know, weather, whatever. So I am not late for things. And now for the last 20 minutes,

you have had to wait for me to figure out why my microphone isn't working and the volume was down.

That's classic. I love it. I love it. I am like so sorry, but I am also just thinking, thank goodness it's with you because you seem like you're a goofball like I am. So life is too short to be too serious, right?

Well, I'll tell you what, your instincts are correct on that one. I'm certainly a goofball.

Yeah, I agree. I can't wait. So you were a basketball star. Oh, let's not jump right to hyperbole. No, I found myself a basketball star too. So we're both basketball stars. Oh, okay. In that case, yes, absolutely. Absolutely. Well, let me tell you, I'll tell you ignominious stat, Carrie. So you went to Villanova, so you know all about hoops. You're like living in the high life with Villanova hoops these days. They're like the best college team of the country for like the past five years. have my Villanova shirt on right now. It's crazy that you brought that up. See, in Jay Wright, we can unite. So for me,

I was, I graduated from Vassar College,

fifth all time in games played.

But I was, right we can unite so for me i i was i graduated from vassar college fifth all time and games played but i was not even top 50 in points scored so that tells you all you need to know about my basketball ability but i will have to say this i so i had an awesome center i had a great team all around but our center played pro in in Rome and went on. She was, she played at UW Green Bay, University of Wisconsin Green Bay, followed in her brother's footsteps, who then played for the Milwaukee Bucks a little bit. He like, you know, played professionally for years. She went on, played professionally. And I didn't score a lot of points either, but I had a lot of assists, and those things are important.
