KG. And we've got a special episode today. We have five ridiculous nutrition myths that you probably believe.

0:12.8

And these are things we're constantly asked. And frankly, they're just completely wrong and not embedded in science.

0:18.8

But the problem is a lot of people assume these to be the truth.

0:21.6

And we're going to kind of jump into them one by one and explain why they aren't true.

0:24.6

Let's jump right into it.

0:26.6

Number one is quite simply that a lot of people think saturated fat is bad for you.

0:30.6

And we could even expand on this and a lot of people think that fat is bad for you in general.

0:34.6

Fat is a very important nutrient and it has a lot of purposes in the

0:37.8

body. It contributes to hormone regulation. It can be great as a slower burning like

0:44.9

energy source for you and your body. And saturated in particular really is important

0:50.9

for testosterone production for men. So a lot of people tend to kind of neglect this and

0:55.2

say, oh, it's the worst thing. Saturated fat and fat are not the enemies. What you do want to be

1:00.0

careful of is trans fats and going over your calorie intake. There you go. Number two. And next up,

1:07.9

number two, a lot of people believe that whole wheat bread is way, way, way, way better than white bread. Whenever I order white bread, some people actually look at me like I'm crazy. They're like, what, aren't you a fitness guru? Like, why are you having white bread? But the truth is, it's actually not that much better. There are a couple things that I guess you could say are beneficial. They are lower on the glycemic index. They do have a little bit more micronutrients and they do have a tad bit more fiber. And something I would just like to add here is if you are just basically looking to, you know, your bread and gluten sources to try to get your micronutrients and fibers, I'd say you're probably doing it wrong you're gonna want to primarily get that from

1:44.4

you know your vegetables these are gonna be very high in fibers you know even fruits can be very

1:49.4

high in your micronutrients and you want to look for those sources more so than you do your

1:53.5

gluten sources for these things and personally for me yes whole grain is better but it's not

1:58.6

like white grain is inherently bad you can still get it

2:01.0

fortified once again like Kyle said with all these great things and you know you can get supplemented with other things but to me you know I would rather just eat a ton of vegetables have a really wholehearty diet for the most part and then you know enjoy some white bread because to me it just tastes a lot better and mix better and I think it's like a lot more fun to have so that's the choice I make but it's up to you it's not as if you know

2:20.7

white bread's going to kill To me, it just tastes a lot better and mixed better and I think it's like a lot more fun to have

2:17.5

So that's the choice I make but it's up to you. It's not as if you know white bread's gonna kill you
