This week, I'm going to talk to you about mothers and sons.

Next week, Lord willing, I'll talk to you about mothers and daughters.

One of the things mothers need if they're going to bring up children is a good radar system.

You've got to have a sense of how your kids are doing.

You are the one with your husband, of course, who is responsible for how they are doing?

Are they prospering, flourishing, or are they languishing?

When we were young parents with little kids, we called this a full tank or a low tank.

In other words, not only does mom need to keep an eye on the physical health of the kiddos,

but she also needs to be seen how they're doing spiritually and emotionally.

Are there tanks full? Or are there tanks low?

The thing is, children are never static.

They may be doing great, full tanks overflowing, but then they go through a dry stage, just like you do.

So mothers cannot go on autopilot.

You must always be paying attention to those invisible needs your children have.

But on top of that, mothers need to teach their sons and their daughters what they are for.

This has always been true, but especially now it is urgent.

Boys are not girls and may not be girls.

Girls may not be boys.

God is our maker.
