I was doing some thinking about the 2017 NFL season earlier this week, and I was thinking

specifically about how insane the up and down nature of storylines are in the NFL.

There are just so many examples of writing a player off because of a small stretch of

games just to see that player rebound, and then no one wants to talk about it once that

player actually does rebound.

Or there are examples where there's just some generally accepted narrative, and when

that narrative is actually proven to be incorrect, nothing's ever really corrected.

Like take the Ezekiel Elliott suspension as an example.

During the first eight games of the season for Dallas, Dac Prescott was averaging 228 yards

per game, and he had thrown 16 touchdowns in just four interceptions.

He had a 7.02 yards per attempt to average, and then that Atlanta game happened, the first

one without Zeke, and Dac was bad, and then he threw three picks against the Eagles a week

later, and then two more against the chargers without a touchdown.

All that you saw on Twitter then was that Dac is a bad quarterback without a Zeke-Euel

Elliott.

Meanwhile, both Alfred Morris and Rod Smith were doing stand-up jobs in relief of Zeke
