Summary

In this episode, I break down why we re-drafted nearly our entire team over the last 12 months — from fuel and payroll to insurance, CPA, and bookkeeping. Growth changes the game, and the people who got you here aren't always the ones who can take you where you're going. We talk about how to evaluate your team, when it's time to make a change, and why drafting the right people is one of the most important leadership decisions you'll ever make.

hanging with you guys. And good morning. Well, today's podcast episode, I wanted to come at you guys

0:32.5

with something that's very, I think, practical and timely for a lot of us. And I wanted to talk about drafting on your team and really the conversation that every single

0:43.7

person that is in our business right now is going through an accountability checklist,

0:50.8

a performance review, and we are drafting to see who and what is actually

0:56.6

valuable to the company. And I'm going to be talking a little bit more about accountability,

1:01.4

probably later on this week on the podcast. But what I want to talk about is drafting people

1:08.2

on your team that you might have outgrown or people that are complacent, people that aren't hungry. And I don't just mean like people on your team that you might have outgrown or people that are complacent,

1:11.8

people that aren't hungry. And I don't just mean like people on your actual team. I know I can say

1:17.5

that and, you know, five different people will hear five different things just now. I'm not talking

1:22.2

so much today about your actual employees or, you know, anybody on your team inside the company.

1:27.6

What I wanted to do is talk for just a few minutes about anything and everything else that

1:31.2

touches the company.

1:32.7

And I'm talking about your payroll provider, your insurance agent, your banker,

1:37.1

five, six, seven other different roles.

1:39.6

Because that's what we have basically went through the process of this last 12 months.

1:45.2

And I don't think by the time it's pencils down here in another month or two,

1:49.7

that we'll have anybody on our team from a professional services standpoint that we had on

1:55.3

our team this same time last year. And it didn't really start like, that being the goal or the reason or me trying
