I'm Levy Dalton and this is all drink to that where we get behind the scenes of the wine business. Oh, Yoshi Takamora is on the show today. Hello sir, how are you?

Yoshi, you're joining us from Japan, where you were born and where you work now at I

wine dot jep. But how did you get started with wine?

Sure thing. Well I thought the interview was going to be conducted in Japanese but

I suppose English would work as well. But thank you

for having me. How I got the job is, well basically how I got started in the wine business is right yeah is basically I

didn't grow up in a family of wine so my dad and my mom used to drink you know very little amount of beer every night with a meal and I

didn't know anything about wine and on a special occasion they would drink a blue none from Germany and that was pretty much my only

exposure to wine when I was growing up.

And how I got interested in wine is when I was in college I was fortunate enough to take a

wine course at Cornell. Oh Cornell okay absolutely and that Cornell is one of

those special universities where the underage law doesn't exist. It's exempt from the underage law.

So anybody who's under the age 21 can actually take a wine course and then drink a wine

if you're enrolled in that course.

I imagine there'll be a lot more admissions once this podcast gets out.

Oh boy, oh boy.

Oh boy.

Yeah, so that's how I got started and wine, obviously for the wrong reasons

in the beginning because I just wanted to get drunk.

But as I got interested more and more about wine, it just kind of came to me that it would be actually really nice to be able to do this as a job

after I graduate.
