about season 9 episode 8 titled Evolution. Yeah fitting title. This is the midseason finale for people who are kind of following along at home in real time with us.

This, you know, it was aired in November of

whatever year, 1867, I don't know yeah and I think so they took you know their

traditional break to February for the next episode a Iran what do you think of this one I

really like this episode. I think that there is something

the Walking Dead did really well in the first season or two that they haven't quite done as well is atmospherics.

Because like I think they take the cheap route of like well we're sweaty running through a hot Georgia forest so let's just lean into that we're sweaty and running through a hot Georgia forest

There's a couple of these shots that I thought did a really good job of establishing like the mystery and kind of the dread,

particularly when like Jesus, Aaron, and Darrell are hot on the trail of Eugene and they're like walking across this field that's like shrouded in fog and you can see a barn sticking out of it and then like

You know the graveyard shot is like something straight out of old hammer horror film.

And probably intentionally that way.

And I just fucking loved it.

And you know, the establishing of like,

you know, what's going on these walkers

hearing them like kind of whisper the the one that like you know dodged Jesus

kill stroke and like the discovery of the true nature of them I thought all that stuff was really really well done

They're doing some really interesting stuff with with megan it is still starting to try my patience this keeping mystery whatever fucking massive rift.

Like every single episode we find out that this rift between the especially hilltop and Alexandria

is just bigger and

between Alexander and all the different things like some shit went down

...
