Welcome back to the podcast. My name is Joseph Clough and in this episode, we're talking about a subject

0:15.2

which I think you're going to find really, really valuable because it's all about how to react calmly around people who may provoke you

0:24.5

or they might you know they may make you feel a certain way which kind of rubs you the wrong way

0:29.7

or you makes you feel worried or anxious or even if you have say narcissists or people who just

0:36.5

try to put you down now before we get into more of

0:40.7

the psychology of the process it is important to always mention that other people's opinions of

0:48.6

you are none of your business we say that time and time again because it is so important. Other people's opinions,

0:57.0

I mean, yeah, we can take them in, we can understand them, but at the end of the day, it is your

1:02.4

mind and it's really about what your opinion of self is, rather other people's opinions of you as a

1:10.1

person. So have that in the forefront of your mind,

1:12.8

1:34.3

we could do this maybe in another episode or we could do it a little bit on this episode, but I want to just break down what you have to do. You see, other people who provoke you, we tend to think, well, that person makes me feel provoked. That person makes me feel bad. But if we live

1:49.5

by that mentality that other people make us feel certain feelings, we're out of control. We're not

1:56.6

able to be able to deal the situation because we're saying only that person can therefore only

2:02.8

stop that, right? And we don't want to live by that narrative, but only other people can

2:07.9

make us feel things. We want to go, how do I choose to feel these feelings? Like, there's

2:15.3

something within me that they've touched upon which has provoked me to feel those feelings.

2:21.3

And that's where we get the power back. That's where we get to decide how we'd like to feel.

2:29.3

So what I'd like you to do, if there is a certain person in your life that you feel you would like to choose how you want to feel, react, and just be in a very grounded or strong or powerful state, consider maybe the triggers in the first place.

2:51.6

Like what is the first thing that has to happen from that person that causes you to feel a certain way?

2:59.6

Like I know we said like we are the one who's generating.
