0:43.6	I felt like a person who didn't have a lot of agency.
0:46.7	I was stuck in this apartment.
0:48.0	I couldn't go home.
0:48.8	I couldn't go anywhere.
0:50.4	And my novel was getting too sad for me, if you can believe it.
0:55.0	My novel about the war, about these three children without agency trying to survive it, was getting too sad for me.
1:02.0	And I just needed a character who could run around, be irresponsible, make decisions, all of which I felt I couldn't do at the time.
1:13.9	And so I decided to just write an irresponsible character.
1:18.0	I made her a spy because I like spy television and decided to experiment.
