Summary

Because you are a human on this planet, you’ve likely been exposed to a whole lot of diet culture rules and fear based, insecurity inducing strategies. And over rate years you’ve adopted many of them as rules for your life.

In todays episode, I do a gentle dive into how I went from a serial dieter, to an intuitive eater, to where I am now: INTENTIONAL eating and movement.

I share with you how you can remove some of the hyper-fixation on doing it right according to “the experts,” and start learning to listen to your own internal cues and joy signals. Its just scratching the surface of this topic, but I hope it makes you think about what truly feels good to you, and how we can tap into more of that.

See you inside 💥

0:59.1

I'm doing this program and I'm loving it it's five days week, but I don't do the cardio. I swap that out because I don't like cardio. And the amount of messages I got saying,

1:10.0

it never even occurred to me that I don't have to do something if I don't like it right or someone saying I always feel like if I don't do it perfectly that I'm not successful or someone saying I can't tell you how many times I've

1:24.4

started a program and then stopped and started over because I got sick or because

1:28.1

whatever because you know I want on vacation and if I didn't do it as laid out I considered it a failure.

1:36.4

And so it occurred to me how many people are still outsourcing their body.

1:43.0

And duh, right? Like duh, it is the world that we live in,

1:46.0

it is in the air we breathe,

1:48.0

we are taught from such a young age that we can't trust ourselves

1:52.0

to know what we want to eat, when we want to eat, how we should move, what we should do when we move, right?

2:00.0

And I think especially for those of us that have become really entrenched in diet culture,

2:06.0

we have learned over and over and over again that we can't trust ourselves.

2:09.8

And so, you know, a couple years back I started doing intuitive eating.

2:14.8

And intuitive eating means you let yourself eat whatever you want,

2:19.0

whatever you want, as much as you want.

2:20.8

You just eat, right, without the rules and without the restriction.
