Hello from CNN, I'm Anna Sturlow with the five things you need to know for Wednesday, September 27th.

Former President Donald Trump is entering his busiest campaigning stretch yet since the 2024 presidential race began.

And it seems he'll be almost everywhere this week except tonight's GOP debate stage.

Instead of battling it out with seven of his fellow candidates, Trump will be in Michigan giving a speech to

striking union workers.

The visit tees up a potential showdown with President Joe Biden instead, who visited

UAW members on the picket line yesterday and has slammed Trump's record with

autoworkers and a new attack ad. Trump will then make a stop in California on

Friday before moving on to Iowa over the weekend. Tonight isn't the first

GOP primary debate Trump skipped and

perhaps won't be the last. He's publicly questioned why he should take part in the

GOP debates when he has such a lead in national and early state polls. It's something fellow candidate Ron DeSantis

told Fox News isn't fair to voters.

I think it's interesting and he's not willing to stand on that stage.

I think he owes it to all the voters

to show up, defend his record, articulate what he would do going

forward.

North Korea says it's decided to quote, expel U.S. Army Private Travis King.

That's according to state media and comes after King

crossed into North Korea during a tour of the demilitarized zone in July.

Pyongyang claims that King crossed over because he, quote, harbored ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment

and racial discrimination within the US Army,
