Former President Donald Trump still has a slight edge over President Joe Biden in the race for the White House, but it's pretty neck and neck.

That's according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, as CNN's David Chalion explains.

Joe, our brand new CNN poll shows Donald Trump with a narrow lead in a rematch with Joe Biden.

49% of registered voters support Trump, 45% support Biden. That is precisely where

CNN polling had this race back in November of last year. It is a remarkably stable

race and one that includes two people that are broadly unpopular

with the American public. The poll also showed that while some people are

starting to feel a bit more optimistic about the economy,

most still have a bleak outlook. And even though inflation is easing, people are still feeling

the pinch, blaming that and the high cost of living for why they don't feel great about the economy. the 4 is out and more than 350,000 jobs were added in January, while the unemployment rate stayed

the same at 3.7%.

That's a far stronger start to the year than economists had predicted.
