Israel's military says it has now taken back control of all communities around Gaza, over 48 hours after Hamas launched a surprise

attack that killed more than 700 people. Israel officially declared war against Hamas yesterday and has been hitting Gaza with airstrikes since

the attack, with officials saying at least 560 people are dead there.

And while the full scale of the Israeli response remains unclear, the country's Prime Minister

Benjamin Netanyahu has predicted a quote, long and difficult war.

The country's defense minister ordered that no food, electricity or fuel will be allowed through to Gaza. The

Meanwhile, a UN agency says tens of thousands of people have been displaced in Gaza

as Israeli forces continue to target Hamas.
