It's been 22 years since the 9-11 terror attacks on the United States and the White House is

preparing to commemorate the day. First Lady Jill Biden will lay a wreath at the

Pentagon, Vice President Kamala Harris will take part in an event in Lower

Manhattan, and President Joe Biden will speak

to U.S. service members and their families at a military base in Alaska this afternoon.

He'll stop there after ending his visit to Vietnam where he paid tribute at the John

McCain Memorial. Biden's return to the US comes after a fruitful trip to the

Indo-Pacific where he strengthened ties with countries across the region, including Vietnam.

The two countries have formally upgraded their diplomatic ties to a comprehensive strategic

partnership, as America seeks to reduce its economic reliance on China.

CNN's Anna Corin is in Hanoi with the details.

President Biden will be returning to the United States

with some multi-billion dollar deals, the largest being Boeing 7.8 billion dollars

57-37 max aircraft will be sold to Vietnam Airlines so this has been highly productive. You know this is obviously

about trade and investment but it's also about America diversifying its supply

chain away from China. This is something that's very important,

particularly when it comes to semiconductors, artificial intelligence and cloud computing,

something that President Biden said that they will be

cooperating with Vietnam and investing here in Vietnam.

The Kremlin says North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will be meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days. This comes as a South Korean government official tells CNN that Kim Jong-un appears to be on a train

bound for Vladivostok in Russia's Far East. Putin has also been on the move, also
