Israeli forces say they've rescued two hostages from the city of Rafa and Gaza,

where they killed dozens of people in airstrikes overnight.

The two men who were saved had been in captivity for 128 days after Hamas kidnapped them during the

October 7th terror attack.

Israel's military says they're in good medical condition

and describe their rescue as a covert operation.

This comes as a Palestine Red Crescent Society says more than a hundred people have

died in Rafa after a night of quote extremely intense

attacks. CNN cannot independently verify the number of casualties on the

ground. CNN's Nada Bashir has more. Well, first, the humanitarian situation seems to be growing only more desperate in Rafah.

This is an area where some 1.3 million people, including an estimated 600,000 children are now concentrated after fleeing fighting in other parts of Gaza.

There is simply nowhere left for civilians to turn.

Palestinian authorities, international aid groups, and UN humanitarian officials are warning that such an operation in Rofah will not only lead to more suffering, but more civilians being killed.
