Hello from CNN, I'm Joe Beck with the five things you need to know for Friday

September 6th. Last month's much-awaited jobs report is out this morning

showing 142,000 jobs were added in August, and the unemployment rate dropped slightly to 4.2%.

Many people are watching these figures closely because the Fed will likely use them to decide

how much to cut interest rates later this month.

Wall Street has also been looking for reassurance the job market is calling steadily

rather than plummeting into a recession.

The 14 year old suspect in the Georgia school shooting is set to appear in court this morning for the first time.

Authorities say Colt Gray took an AR-style rifle into Appalachian High School Wednesday and started shooting,

killing two students and two teachers while injuring nine others.

He'll be tried as an adult and is facing four counts of

murder. Gray's father has also been charged over the shooting, including

with involuntary manslaughter and second-degree murder. CNN's Raphael Romo is outside the courthouse.

We have also heard that both the father and the son

were on law enforcement's radar for at least a couple of years for different reasons stemming from incidents that happened here in Georgia.
