October 2nd. Israel may target Iran's nuclear sites as part of its retaliation. One analyst tells CNN that could be done

either through a traditional military strike or a cyber attack similar to what it used

against Hezbollah's pages and walkie talkies last month.

Today, Iran insisted that it has no interest in a broader war, describing the missile barrage

it fired last night as self-defense

and a response to the assassinations of Hezbollah's leader and a Hamas political leader.

Sonam Vakil from Chatham House says that statement from Tehran is telling.

Iran is trying to throw down some red lines, knowing full well that it is in a defensive position

that Hezbollah is compromised and that it doesn't have the traditional conventional capabilities to fight Israel.

It is hoping that there will be some restraint.

Today Israel's military announced it sending another division to join the ground war in southern Lebanon

which typically has at least 10,000 troops and it's urged two dozen villages in southwest Lebanon to evacuate.

It's been six days since Hurricane Helene hit

and the full scale of destruction is still being realized.

At least 166 people across six states have died from the storm and

hundreds of others are unaccounted for as communities across the southeast are crippled

by the catastrophic damage.

Vital roads are also closed off, with some areas so inaccessible,

supplies are being delivered by mules and by air.

This father travelled hundreds of miles to bring supplies to his daughter in

Asheville, North Carolina.
