US officials are calling for new measures to counter drones, as ongoing mystery

sightings cause alarm across several states. It can't be the wild west of drones out there in

Jersey or anywhere else. Representative Josh Gottheimer is one of many putting pressure on

federal officials to address the concerns and give the public

more information. So far, they've downplayed a lot of the reported sightings, saying they're

likely small airplanes or other manned aircraft and don't pose a security threat. Only federal

authorities have the power to legally shoot down a drone in U.S. airspace, but some people are calling

for that to change. Sightings in Ohio over the weekend pushed officials to close the airspace

above one of the U.S.'s most critical Air Force bases for almost four hours.
