Some Democrats are fuming over President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son, Hunter,

after he repeatedly said he wouldn't. Joe Biden had vowed not to get involved

after Hunter was convicted of federal gun and tax crimes.

But multiple officials who recently worked for the president said they never believed a pardon

was really off the table.

We asked CNN's Lauren Fox for the details.

Good morning, Joe. Democrats reacting quite poorly to the news that Joe Biden had pardoned his son, Hunter Biden,

with many Democrats arguing that they were disappointed by this decision, including Senator Maggie

Hassan of New Hampshire, who said, quote, I wish the president had kept his word.

President-elect Donald Trump is set to go on his first overseas trip since the election.

He'll be heading to Paris this week for the official reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral

after receiving an invitation from the French president.

Local authorities told the Associated Press about 50 heads of state and government are expected to attend Saturday's

ceremony. Meanwhile, Trump is once again saying that he'll block a Japanese firm's $15 billion

takeover bid of U.S. Steel when he takes office.

The intended buyer, Nippon Steel, said it was determined to protect and grow the America-based

company.

But the President-elect says U.S. Steel can eventually stand on its own through tax incentives
