A new CNN poll out this morning is rough reading for President Joe Biden and his re-election campaign.

It shows his approval rating has sunk to 39%.

And almost 70% of Democrats want a different candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

CNN's David Chalion breaks down some of the numbers.

Only 30% of Americans think things are going well in the country.

Seven in 10 Americans say they're going badly.

58% of Americans say that Joe Biden's policies have worsened economic conditions.

That's a majority there.

This is why you hear I'm talking about Baidonomics all the time.

The biggest concern people have about Biden appears to be his age,

while others expressed worries about his connection to his son, Hunter Biden. A majority say they believe Biden was involved

in his son's business dealings while he was VP, something he has denied.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department said yesterday that a special counsel intends to seek an indictment against Hunter Biden by the end of the month relating to gun charges.

As the search for an escaped murderer in Pennsylvania enters its eighth day, some schools are

returning to class this morning.

The district says absences will be excused, though, and four schools that are still in the area where the manhunt is taking

place will remain closed. Authorities say their search for 34-year-old Danilo Cavalcante is being

made harder by extreme heat, high humidity, and the terrain there.

Kaval Kante's escape from the Chester County prison last week was caught on surveillance

tape, which showed him crab walking between two walls and an exercise yard, placing his hands on one wall and his feet on another. He was convicted of first-degree murder last month for the fatal stabbing of his former girlfriend in 2021 and is wanted over a 2017 homicide in Brazil.
