Hello, from CNN, I'm Joe Beck with the five things you need to know for Tuesday

February 27th. President Joe Biden is feeling optimistic about a ceasefire in

Gaza.

My National Security Advisor tells me that we're close, we're close,

and not done yet.

And my hope is by next Monday, we'll have a ceasefire.

There appears to have been some serious progress towards a deal between Hamas and Israel that would

mean a pause in fighting in Gaza so that hostages can get out and aid can get in.

Biden has come under pressure to get some results from the negotiations,

especially ahead of today's primary in Michigan. Some Democrat voters in the swing states are

planning to vote uncommitted today in protest of Biden's policies on Gaza

and to call for an immediate ceasefire.

Eugene Scott is a senior politics reporter from Axios.

I spoke with Michigan swing voters earlier this month and they expressed real

interest about swinging back to Trump after swinging towards Biden in 2020.
