Republicans and Democrats have released clashing documents this morning on the deadly U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

After years of investigation, the report by the GOP-led House Foreign Affairs Committee

and a Democrat memorandum underscore how partisan the debate over the frenzied U.S. exit in August

2021 has become.

The report also thrust the evacuation back into the spotlight during the lead up to the election as CNN's

Kylie Atwood tells us.

Hi Fez, the Republicans on the House Foreign Affairs Committee are claiming that

the Biden Harris administration misled and lied to the American public throughout the course of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Now this report is coming out on the eve of the presidential debate but the chairman of the committee on the Republican side is saying this has nothing to do about politics

however on the other side of the aisle the Democratic ranking member of the committee

Gregory Meeks is claiming that this is a predetermined and partisan narrative about the

Afghanistan withdrawal and saying the blame should actually be on the

Trump administration not the Biden administration for how it was withdrawn.
