Good to be here. |
| 0:52.8 | I'm going to, if you don't mind, I'm going to do a little housekeeping. It's mayor. I'm sorry, Mary. No, no, it's spelled exactly like the guy that has a television show. I know that. Rob does. I just want to make sure Rob doesn't have a television show. I don't know that. Or a television. |
| 0:55.0 | These are rough times. Oh, they're off the truth. |
| 0:55.8 | Yeah, it's not an ethical or moral decision. No, it got. I was paying monthly payments. It got repode. He bought him for rent a center. I was paying $12 a month. For 50 months. Last time Dave was in the studio with us, we tried to get a street named after you, remember in your hometown? Or a sign. A sign. None of that's happening. None has ever happened. And we got to hold the mayor and he liked you. It was your friend of yours from school and nothing happened, huh? No, I thought they put up, we hate David Ketchner Boulevard. Thanks, guys. Am I right? There's a Tipton, Missouri? You know, there's a tipped in Iowa. Okay. |
| 1:27.8 | And there's a Tipton, Iowa. |
| 1:29.3 | Okay. |
| 1:29.8 | And there's a Tipton, Kansas. |
| 1:31.4 | But I thought Tipton, Missouri came up in the news recently. Yeah, we talked about a story there. We brought up your name, too. What happened? Well, we brought it up. I don't know. something happened there and then we brought up that that was a town it must have been a murder |
| 1:43.5 | suicide had to be something awful and And if Kekner would have been the mayor there, it would have happened. He'd have solved that crime. We were trying to make on the mayor. His buddy from high school was a mayor. Rob thinks mayor's site. No, no, Rob's always thinking about TV shows. And I think you just came up with one. The mayor of a town who also solves crimes? Was it this headline? Was it Tipton Corrections worker pleads guilty to having sex with inmate? That sounds like something we would have talked about. Is there a correctional facility in Tipton? I'll tell you what. So Tipton would grow four people every 10 years, every census. |
| 2:18.4 | When I was, when I was literally, the earliest time I remember was seeing the census sign was |
| 2:23.0 | 1,99. |
| 2:25.2 | And then the next census, which I think was the 1970, it went up to 2004. |
| 2:31.4 | And then I think in 80, it went up like to 2050 and on and on by about less than 10 and then in the year 2000 it jumped up to 3500 |
| 2:40.0 | And I'm like dad a plan opened or something tipped in nearly doubled he said well dave they move the city limits to include the prison |
| 2:49.0 | Really they did yep it's got a medium security prison. |
| 2:54.1 | Yeah. And it used to be outside the city limits. So that federal dollars are allocated on head count. |
| 3:00.8 | Oh. So you got half the towns locked up and they don't even know where they are. |
| 3:05.8 | Half the town can't leave the other half's in prison. They're counted as Tipton residents? No, no. The Tipton has 2,000 people. Okay. But $1,500 are incarcerated. Incarcerated. See, I was out of the impression, like a college town, they didn't count the college students, even though they're in a place like Paul and Washington. The college kids can go home for holidays. These guys can't leave. Right. Some towns, they essentially double in size, but the census doesn't recognize the students. They do in Tipton. All right. Well, the prisoners. They don't have a school. Tipton doesn't have a school. If there was a school, they might not recognize them. But I didn't know. They recognized prisoners as residents. So you did the office trivia show last night. Tonight's your regular stand-up show. There are two shows tonight, Colleen. Yes. Yeah, we have two fun shows. The guys are back. We forgot to introduce our friend. you know, we've been on a few new radio stations over the past month or so. And we've never really introduced Colleen. How is that possible? Colleen is the manager of the Omaha Funnybone. She's very respected around the industry. All the comedians love her. We love her. We've love her for a long time. Some don't like her. |
