Even when your calendar is full, the kids are at home, and your energy is running low.

And there's a quote from The Six Pillars of Intimacy, The Secret to Extraordinary Merits,

that says, everyone, and I didn't include it when I wrote it, but I would now that would say,

everyone that means every spouse, likes to feel special and desired, but I would now that would say everyone that means every spouse likes to feel

special and desired. And I would also add to that, especially during really busy seasons,

like the holidays. We're going to talk about that in today's episode, but we start every episode

with a hug. And a hug is really an opportunity for us to celebrate the one family, to celebrate

where you're being intentional in your marriage

or the actions that you're taking to create closeness and connection with your spouse.

And this hug comes from a post that was in the one family private Facebook group that said,

our schedules have been super busy all summer and fall with sports, activities, and meetings.

We finally managed to schedule an overnight getaway

at the lake a little ways down the highway from home. I'd almost booked this place several times

over the past months, but we always had something come up. So I was glad it finally worked out,

and it was a nice time. Not every trip has to be a big undertaking. Sometimes I just have a quick

break from home to reconnect without spending a fortune

or worrying about getting to the airport too late and missing your flight.

It is.
