Summary

It’s been a funny week. The Traitors has ended (to which Liv is so cross she invents a whole new word at the spoilers she encountered), Charlotte has realised the Bake Off is better when viewed with an 8 year old and also dives back into a sitcom that first aired in 1981, oh sweet nostalgia.

And seemingly, nostalgia doesn’t end there this week. Oh no! Liv has fallen into the steamed pudding aisle (but not before she tucks into her chicken and leek pie) and forgoing summers Ice Lolly rankings- it’s time for the best high street soups- it’s all go!

There’s also important cheese board chat, a big Christmas savings plan and Liv getting geese-bumps for this weeks very trendy item. You may well hear it here first!

For soup suggestions, letters of support for Charlotte to watch Traitors series 2 (Gorton!!!) and any other sweet nothings, you can email us at thefringeofit@gmail.com or slide into our DM’s at @fringeofit.

0:19.3

Oh, go on, go on.

I feel like it's moving fast. I feel like at the moment, people have started talking about Christmas shopping and the lead up to Christmas, and I just haven't thought about anything. And that makes me feel like it's going quite quickly because I'm like, I think we're at the beginning of November. Like, I'm just... This to me is the second. And then I looked at the calendar and it was the 12th and I'm like, okay, I'm just, I'm not there. Like, I'm just, I'm still bedding into autumn. I'm still, I've done, I've not bought a Christmas present yet. And that's quite concerning for me. No, it's not. Well, I mean,

0:56.8

I'm very much a last minute shopper. You know, typical ADHD. I like a deadline. I like to feel

1:03.1

stressed. I like to feel hot and bothered. And I get all my shopping done in like a day.

1:08.1

When do you normally start? Reassure me. So last year we did it, I say we.

1:14.8

Jack's already started.

1:16.1

He's actually quite good with like looking for stuff on Vinted for the kids.

1:20.5

So he's already started.

1:23.1

So we've got bits and bobs in a box.

1:26.2

But I mean, I've asked June to write a Christmas list several times

1:29.1

and she just won't commit to paper but last year I think we went on the 21st of December

1:36.2

we had the nicest day we went to Nottingham and we just did all of our shopping in one day

1:42.1

done okay that sounds wonderful like you know back in the day that what people did. I think unless you've got something really specific that you need to get that you know he's going to sell out, somebody's got to, like, be last minute. That's so true. I guess as well, maybe it's living in a city like London where I feel like there isn't that tranquility.

2:03.4

I didn't know what I don't know what Nottingham was like, but I feel like Christmas shopping in London becomes hectic from about now.

2:10.1

And I feel like that kind of, there's like there's maybe like an undercurrent of stress which is already present.

2:18.6

So maybe that's why I feel like a pressure to have already started because I think just walking around London it's just

2:23.3

like are you not doing that um but that's reassuring um any other listeners that haven't begun yet
