I'm back from a week on Star Island,

which is a little Unitarian getaway about 10 miles off the coast of New Hampshire.

Cassie and I were there for a week.

They are sort of the homegrown Buddhists of the United States.

I think Raffauldo Amerson was a Unitarian and Theroux and a bunch of sort of smart, cool American intellectuals of the 19th century.

And I've got to say they are some really nice people.

I am a bit, as you know, I'm a bit of a curmudgeon.

And hanging out with those people for a week gave me hope for our species.

Or at least made me stop assuming that we're all fuck ups.

Because there are some really good people there, healthy, kind families.

And it's a place where people with kids bring their kids because the kids can run around like maniacs on this island.

And nobody really needs to worry about it.

And there are people, there is sort of a teenage core.

They're watching the kids a lot of time and taking care of other stuff.
