Hello and welcome to episode 86 of The Mindful Kind podcast (and the final episode of the goal-setting mini series).
In this episode, you'll discover some simple (but fun!) ways to celebrate your goals, efforts and achievements.
Tip 1 // Track your goals and set up a reward system
Choose fun ways to reward yourself for the goals you achieve by keeping track of your achievements via an app, journal, or other tracker. If you would like to download a free tracker I created, then click here to subscribe to my newsletter (this free tracker is part of a workbook which also includes an epic list of reward ideas and affirmations you can use when you achieve your goals!).
Tip 2 // Record all the steps towards your goals in a journal
Write about the achievements, the challenges, how you overcame those challenges, and anything else meaningful to you.
Tip 3 // Use affirmations and positive thoughts, such as "I'm doing really well and I'm proud of myself."
You'll also discover some interesting research by Lepper and Green about their intrinsic versus extrinsic motivations in children.
I hope you enjoy the episode and have a wonderful week, Mindful Kind!

1:06.1 | So achieving goals is wonderful, but I think many of us could do a lot more to celebrate our efforts as well as |
1:12.4 | our achievements. For example, maybe you set a goal to attend yoga four times a week and you go three |
1:18.5 | times but you can't make it to the fourth class. If this was me a few years ago I'd be seeing that |
1:24.5 | as a failure somehow to reach my goal. |
1:32.8 | But now I still take the time to appreciate and reward myself for the efforts that I put into going to yoga three times. |
1:35.0 | I think it's really important that we use goals to motivate us and maybe even set goals a little |
1:40.6 | bit beyond being realistic sometimes, just to see what we're capable of, and then |
1:45.0 | to be proud of ourselves for what we do accomplish. And to be honest, I do this fairly often in my |
1:50.7 | business. I set goals which will push me, and even if I don't achieve them, I know I still worked |
1:56.6 | harder and accomplished more than if I'd just set goals I knew I would definitely achieve. |
