Summary

"You prioritize your life for the people who mean the most to you. And that's how it's been since day one for us."

Two days before Thanksgiving, I was up at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for my eighth round of chemotherapy. This time around, I was joined by my college roommate and one of my favorite people of all-time, Danielle "Dee" Mastronardi. This is our recap from the day at the infusion center, with a whole lot of detours for stories [we probably shouldn't be sharing] from our college days.

Welcome to the Allie on the Run show. I'm your host, Allie Feller, and this is where I talk

0:08.7

with people who are doing exciting things on the run and beyond. From professional athletes and

0:13.7

celebrity runners to the everyday amateur and back of the pack runner, we are here to celebrate

0:18.4

everyone and anyone who enjoys a life on the run.

0:22.1

Whether you are running towards something big or away from something that's been holding you back,

0:26.2

I am here to hold your hand and help you pick up the pace. I'm back today with another

0:30.6

support squad episode. As always, I know these episodes are not for everyone because they're not

0:36.1

about running. So if you come to the alley on the run show to hear about running, this one might not be your

0:41.2

personal preference.

0:42.2

And that's okay.

0:43.1

I'll be back next week with more run talk.

0:46.1

The Support Squad series.

0:47.0

This is something I started in the wake of a stage four breast cancer diagnosis earlier this

0:51.3

year.

0:52.1

I am so fortunate to have really exceptional friends and family members,

0:55.9

and we got into the habit of recording episodes together the morning after each round of chemotherapy.

1:01.1

Kind of a different take on the morning after. My chemo buddies for round six and seven,

1:06.2

they were local friends. Shout out to Sarah and to Katie. So we didn't have sleepovers,

1:10.5

which meant we didn't

1:11.2

record the morning after. But now we're back. Chemo round eight. I'm recording this intro,

1:16.6

six days post-kemo, and I'm still not feeling 100%, not even close. So it's probably been

1:22.2

a while since I've truly been 100%. Round eight was fine. I went into it with a little cold. You can probably hear that.
