Summary

In this vulnerable solo episode, Lindsey opens up about becoming a mom later than she expected—getting married at 35, having her first child at 36, and now navigating the emotional, physical, and spiritual questions around expanding her family in her late 30s.  Ahead, she shares the mindset shifts that helped her release the pressure of society’s timeline + trust the deeper timing of her life. From the fear of getting older to the comparison trap on social media, she explores what it actually looks like to build a life + family that aligns with your truth. Lindsey shares the health, mindset, and spiritual practices she’s leaning on to support fertility, manage stress, and stay grounded in trust as she moves into her next chapter. Wherever you are on your path, this episode is a powerful reminder that your life is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to.  We also talk about: Why the “invisible timeline” around marriage + kids is meant to be shattered The emotional reality of becoming a first-time mom in your mid-to-late 30s How social media + comparison culture amplify anxiety about aging + fertility The surprising statistic about having children later in life + longevity Why stress management is one of the most important factors for fertility The role of nervous system regulation in preparing your body for pregnancy How motherhood has shifted Lindsey’s priorities, goals, and definition of success The energetic + spiritual perspective of children choosing their parents Why relationships + environment matter when preparing to bring a child into the world Lindsey’s personal fertility habits, including nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress reduction Resources: Instagram: @lindseysimcik Order our book, Almost 30: A Definitive Guide To A Life You Love For The Next Decade and Beyond, here: https://bit.ly/Almost30Book.  Sponsors: Revolve | Shop at https://www.REVOLVE.com/ALMOST30 and use code ALMOST30 for 15% off your first order. #REVOLVEpartner BetterHelp | This episode is brought to you by BetterHelp. Hello and welcome to the almost 30 podcast. I'm Lindsay Simcic. This is a solo episode. Welcome to the show. If you've been here, you know the deal.

0:23.5

We do solo episodes, both Kristen and I individually, and then we interview some of the world's

0:28.3

most incredible teachers, healers, experts on everything from health and wellness to spirituality,

0:34.7

relationships, and so much in between. And I'm so grateful you're here. If you've

0:39.4

been an OG fan, you know we've been doing this for 10 years. And I can't believe it. I can't

0:46.6

believe. We did not plan to do this for 10 years. So glad we have been so honored to just grow

0:54.0

alongside so many of you. And I know we have new listeners.

0:57.6

So people finding the podcast when, especially when they're moving through that transition

1:01.9

from their 20s to their 30s, it's a big one. So much is happening. Feels maybe like your life

1:08.4

is falling apart. But it's really coming together, not to be cheesy,

1:12.5

but it's true. We write about it most recently in our new book called Almost 30,

1:18.1

A Definitive Guide to a Life You Love for the next decade and Beyond, and that is my plug.

1:22.1

And you can get it anywhere books are sold. But let's get into this solo episode.

1:26.0

It's one that I've been sitting on for a while now,

1:30.4

I would say, just been percolating. And I want to talk about the fact that I got married at 35,

1:38.9

had my first baby at 36, and I want to have more children. I am in my later 30s. It is not the plan that I had for my

1:46.9

life. I thought I was going to be married by 27, having a couple kids by 30, like just thought

1:54.2

that would be my prime. And, you know, I think it can bring up a lot when your life doesn't happen the way you

2:06.5

initially plan it or envision.

2:10.6

But I've realized over the last, you know, 10 plus years that there's definitely a greater plan for my life that my

2:21.7

own mind could never imagine. And there's like a sequencing that is very purposeful to these

2:29.5

major milestones. You know, I wasn't meant to marry my now husband when I met him back in 2012.
