Today on the Strong Women Podcast, we are back with part two with Dr. Julie Slattery, who is a clinical

psychologist and the president of authentic intimacy.

And today we are going to talk to her about her new book slash old book that was written 20 years ago when she had only been married

four or five years and she just rewrote it and when I heard that Julie I was like oh this is

going to be great because I knew there would be things that I'm sure you've changed in the book because,

of course, when we first start out in our first years of marriage, there are things now

that, you know, I've been married 24 years. Sarah's almost 20 years, right, Sarah?

That there's, obviously, we change our perspective on some things. things but Julie thank you so much for coming back

with us and for writing this book that Sarah and I just were both so encouraged and just loved it.

Well thank you and thanks for giving me the opportunity to share about it. It's going to be fun.

Okay. So the first question we have to ask is why did you decide to rewrite this,

but or really kind of edit it and re-release it? What made you think, oh, let's dust this off and do it

again? Yeah, you know, it really is completely rewritten. So I first had the idea to do some

pretty heavy editing.

And then the more I get into it, I'm like, we just have to start over.

But it is a book that I wrote over 20 years ago.

And God had given me as a young wife and counselor wisdom in some of these dynamics of marriage and power as I was trying to navigate this in my

own marriage and try to figure it out. And I was shocked. I'm still shocked to see like how many

people were reading the book and impacted by it as they were reading this young wife who
