Now here's Paul, teaching from John 20.

You see, what faith does, it doesn't interpret God based on what experience tells us, but interprets experience based on who God

says he is and what he says he will do.

We find ourselves in the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus.

I'm going to read an account of what has been a very famous story,

but I think that we miss what this story is actually about. This is John 20, 24 through 29.

Now Thomas, one of the 12, was not with them when Jesus came. So other disciples told him, we have seen the Lord, but said to them unless I see his hand in his

hands the mark of the nails and place my finger into the mark of the nails and placed my hand

into his side I will never believe eight days later his disciples were inside again and

Thomas was with with them although the doors were locked Jesus came and stood among

them and said peace be with you then he said to Thomas put your finger here and see my hands

and put out your hand and place it in my side do not disbelieve but believe Thomas answered Thomas answered him, my Lord and my God. Jesus said to him,

have you believed because you have seen me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

Often this story is presented as a story about Thomas,

but that's not actually what it's about.
