We don't have to fight evil and wickedness. We have to be determined to walk in paths of righteousness.

Now God will give to us some weapons and some defensive things and some things that enable

us to flourish no matter what the adversary presents to us, but the primary challenge objective of our life is to walk in righteousness.

We don't have to overcome evil.

We have to overcome the temptations that evil brings to us and the challenges it brings to us to lead overcoming lives

But our battle is not to vanquish evil. Jesus did that on the cross

But before we start the lesson, I want to take just a moment. We're living in a very, very

unusual time. Unlike any in our lifetime.

And I really don't bemoan that. I think we're coming through this and the church will be

stronger, more alert, more aware, more prepared to serve our king than at any time in our history.

So while it's been a bit uncomfortable and daunting, I'm excited about the opportunities before us,

but I also think we need to understand the severity of the

season. I've told you many times that I think the resolution to the problems we face

are fundamentally spiritual, that the victories may be expressed through the scientific community or with an economic

idea or some political agreement, but I believe the ultimate resolution of that is spiritual.

But since this is an election year, we just had a primary election, I want to encourage

you to participate in the process.
