0:09.3	What is a fetus?
0:13.4	People typically, when they find out they're pregnant, you know, a young, recently married
0:19.0	woman, doesn't call her mom and say, guess what, mom, I have a fetus inside of me.
0:23.6	In fact, usually we hear the term fetus in medical discussions or when there's debate
0:32.7	on the A word, on abortion.
0:35.4	People say, oh, it's just a fetus, it's not a baby, it's not a real person.
0:40.5	Is that a proper use of the word fetus?
0:44.2	So today I'm going to use the original Latin, fetus is a Latin word.
0:49.6	Also it's etymological root in Greek and we're going to find out today what the word fetus
0:57.3	means.
0:58.3	And then I'm also going to go through the 20th, 21st century medical usage of fetus
1:07.5	as distinct from embryo.
