Summary
The subconscious/unconscious mind is a mysterious and powerful intelligence. If we understand what is happening in our minds it is easier to be more deliberate in our behavior and use our minds to our benefit which causes us to let go of negative beliefs, emotions and behaviors.
Such as anxiety, worry, doubt, fear, lack of confidence, the imposter syndrome and all problems we cannot let go off.
SO we must mean the issue where it lives...the unconscious/subconscious.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome back to the podcast. My name is Joseph Clough and this is episode 834. Now, in today's episode, |
| 0:25.2 | we're going into the differences between what the conscious mind is and what the unconscious |
| 0:31.5 | mind is, or you could say the subconscious mind, and we'll go into a little bit of that soon. |
| 0:44.3 | But if you've been listening to me for a while, you know that I do hypnosis. And I thought it would be a good idea to have an understanding of why hypnosis works so profoundly and what it is in terms of the unconscious and the subconscious. If we just take |
| 0:59.5 | the conscious mind right in the beginning, the conscious mind is really what you're in |
| 1:05.8 | control of right now. Like what you're consciously aware of the conscious functions that you're doing. |
| 1:12.7 | And everything beyond that is very much subconscious or and or unconscious. |
| 1:19.0 | In other words, let's just say you have anxiety. |
| 1:23.9 | And if you cannot change that, if you cannot stop the anxiety, it must mean some other part of you |
| 1:31.5 | is running that process, right? If you have the fear of failure, the fear of not being enough, |
| 1:39.9 | and if you could let it go by clicking your fingers and doing so, you would by now. |
| 1:45.8 | But if you cannot, it must mean something else is running it. |
| 1:50.6 | And that is the unconscious mind. |
| 1:54.2 | Now, I usually use the word unconscious mind. |
| 1:58.3 | But people will save a subconscious mind. Some people will even debate, well, it's |
| 2:02.5 | really this and it's really that and they both have different functions. I like to just do things |
| 2:07.3 | simplistically and I just stick with one. And I've always just said unconscious. So when I do my |
| 2:12.0 | hypnosis, I go, speaking to you, the unconscious man. So if I say unconscious or subconscious on this episode, |
| 2:21.3 | I'm pretty much meaning and defiling it as the same thing just for this episode, for making |
| 2:27.3 | it easier to digest. So as I said, if you could consciously let go of an issue from your |
| 2:32.8 | emotional to the psychological belief systems that we have, values that we have, the past events that we've gone through, the habits, the triggers, if we could consciously let it go ourselves, we would consciously do so. Because why would we keep anxiety? Why would we keep those blocks holding us back? If we could just |
| 2:54.4 | flip the switch or flick the switch and that'd be gone. If you cannot, as I said, it must mean |
