0:44.0 | It is November 13th, 2017. It's super early in the morning and we're really excited to be continuing our series on inappropriate interviews regarding sexuality with Mormons. |
1:01.0 | And we've interviewed seven people so far and last Wednesday we hope to be able to do an eighth interview but we're right out of time. |
1:09.0 | So this morning we're going to be interviewing Isabella. That is not her real name and we will not be showing her face. |
1:17.0 | And Isabella, tell us why you don't feel comfortable using your real name or showing your face just so people understand why this could be challenging. |
1:28.0 | Sure, so I am a Bishop's daughter. My dad was a bishop on while I was growing up and when I feel uncomfortable talking about another bishop and my experience is while I don't know if, you know, my own dad did these things. |
1:48.0 | I hope not. I hope I mean he doesn't seem like he would but that's one and if that were the case it would really hurt my family. So I would I want to keep it as anonymous as possible just to not hurt my family anyway. |

2:10.0 | Well, let's jump into it. Tell us a little bit about your background and what will help us understand better your story. |
2:18.0 | Sure. So I am born and raised in the church. My parents were converts. |
2:25.0 | We moved to the United States when we were my siblings and I were really young and we were raised in California. |
2:35.0 | It's fortunate enough to be raised in a Spanish branch slash ward. |
2:44.0 | And yeah, I mean, I was a TBM until about the time I was in college and learned a lot about reality and then this recent and then left the church and just recently. |
3:00.0 | So when you say Spanish, uh, word or brands tell us a little bit more about that. |
3:06.0 | Sure. Yeah, group and a Spanish branch and you know, it became a word as well as a kid. |
3:14.0 | And for some people when you say Spanish, word or brand, they're going to think like Spain, but tell us what you know, the people there all speak Spanish. |
3:23.0 | Yeah, and it was, I mean, after watching so many Mormon stories, podcasts, I, I guess I feel fortunate that they're not that they're more welcoming, but a lot of them are converts. |
3:36.0 | So you don't have this aspect of feeling like you're like, you don't belong or you're the new kid on the block because basically everyone was there at some point. |
