How did you become inspired to author a book about him?

Well, this story is almost unbelievable.

I was doing a talk in a historical society about John Dillinger, who was subject of an earlier book,

and two people in the audience got into a fight over who was the tougher gangster, John Dillinger, or Lucky Luciano.
