We're on a roll. It's our third interview of the day on Mormon Stories but there's just a few topics that we couldn't ignore. And I think we saved for sure we saved the most important topic for last.

1:02.0

It's a sobering topic. It's a serious one. It's one that's scary and it's intimidating.

1:10.0

But it's one that we've got to cover and we're going to cover it in more than one episode here on Mormon Stories.

1:18.0

But today, tonight is our first start. So many of you have heard the news in the past several weeks about Harvey Weinstein and the sexual assault abuse that he has been charged with and most certainly is guilty of.

1:36.0

And of course, now what we're seeing is this huge long list of other men about the United States, you know, including judge Roy Moore.

1:47.0

And then for those who think that these sorts of issues only happen on the conservator or public inside of the aisle yesterday, Al Franken came out as someone charged with broken and forms of sexual harassment or abuse as well.

2:05.0

And in many ways, the nation is being rocked by this topic.

2:30.0

So, you know, it's not that we need to be thoughtful about, but, you know, it's rare.

2:35.0

And then you think, okay, you know, I've heard about, you know, the casting couch and sort of on the job, just really explicit sexual harassment and assault.

2:49.0

And that's kind of stuff that happened in Hollywood in the 40s. That really doesn't happen in the 21st century.

2:56.0

And then you even think about microaggressions and smaller forms of sexual, you know, inappropriate sexual comments or harassment and you think, yeah, that's something that, you know, maybe inappropriate people in the workplace do, but it's, you know, we're in the 21st century.

3:16.0

And we've kind of, we've kind of moved beyond all that. And for me, maybe one of the most important things that has been jarring my mind is just how incredibly pervasive all of these things are in 2017.

3:34.0

And it's just kind of the water that women swim in.

3:39.0

And this was brought to my attention most forcefully from an article that Merce Buraduran, our guest recently sent a link to it's an article called the unforgiving minute that she shared on her Facebook page and basically said, hey, everybody, you know, listen to this.

4:01.0

I think this article all the way through and I'm posting it right now in the, the morrisory's life Facebook feed.
