You are worthy of fighting for what you want. You’ve got to commit to yourself so that you can succeed at the one thing you can control- your effort. For this Five Minute Friday, I’m doing a special solo episode where I share where I’m at in my journey to become an Olympic athlete. I received some difficult news about six weeks ago about the Pan American Games. But I’m still training with the team for the next ten days. I need to give everything I can so that I don’t have any regrets. 0:28.3	and in one week the team will fly off to Peru for the Pan Am Games
0:34.5	Now the Pan Am Games is like the Olympics of North and South America
0:38.6	all of the countries' national teams from all the different Olympic sports
0:45.5	in the summer Olympics will come to the Pan Am Games to compete
0:49.0	and a lot of these countries will be competing for a spot in the Olympics next year
0:56.7	and whoever wins the Pan Am Games in the handball tournament
1:02.2	goes to the Olympics so this is a chance for us to go to the Olympics
1:06.1	I've been dreaming of being on an Olympic team
1:10.2	from one of the youngest memories I can think of
1:13.5	over 30 years I've been dreaming about it
1:16.4	I joined the USA Handball Team about eight years ago
1:20.9	I started playing handball about eight and a half nine years ago
1:25.2	for the dream that I had to play in the Olympics
1:29.6	because I found this sport on TV one time and became hooked
1:34.4	and I started changing my life around for this one dream
1:38.2	I moved to New York City for a year and a half to learn the sport
