Summary
Is the “lifestyle business” still alive in 2025?
Dan chats with longtime friend Jeff Pecaro about the evolution of internet business, what today’s solopreneurs get right (and wrong), and how constraints can lead to clarity.
They dive into pricing mistakes, the pressure to grow beyond your goals, and how to use tools like AI to think—not just automate. It’s a thoughtful, behind-the-scenes look at the business models most of us are actually running.
Plus: how to join upcoming DC BLACK masterminds for 7+ figure founders.

| 0:44.1 | which is at some point it occurred to me that I can make as much money screwing around on the |
| 0:49.0 | internet as I can make in a job. So why don't I just screw around on the internet all the time? And the |
| 0:55.7 | question I think that we want to talk about today is what business models are viable for |
| 1:02.3 | lifestyle business owners today? Because there has been some fud, Jeff. There has been some concern |

| 1:32.9 | Yeah, there's been a rich history of different schemes and side hustles from the early days of online publishing, online advertising. |
| 1:40.9 | And I think people in our set have taken advantage of almost all of them at some point or another. But between the changes with AI, the changes to Google, the way that this market has matured, it seems like a lot of those loopholes are closing. Once you get that on ramp, you get some momentum, you find some new opportunities, and you wake up and you've been squirre around on the internet for 5, 10, 15, 20 years, and you don't have to go to a job anymore. And that's essentially, I think, a lot of the value in these loopholes. |
| 2:19.4 | So it's interesting to, like, spot them out. |
