Summary

In this episode, I talk about the difference between a leader and a top performer. We usually have a notion that these two are synonymous, but the truth is, not all top performers are leaders and you don't necessarily have to be a top performer to be a leader.

Top performers aim for results but leaders aren't judged by their results. Leaders are judged by looking at their team.

So what are the qualities of a leader?

1. They lead by example

- What are you doing today to lead your organization? Leaders should be models, especially on the way they lead. As a leader, you must be intentionally working with your team.

2. They help lift up the people in their team

- Again, legacy leadership. It's all about developing others in your team. Take the spotlight off of you and put your people on stage. Leaders get more joy when their people win.

So, are you a leader or a top performer?
