Summer Wilkinson, a member of the Navarro College cheer team in 2018 to 2019, was on the team

during the pilot season of the Emmy-nominated docu-series that swept the nation and kept everyone

entertained during the first couple months of COVID-19,

including myself. Summer shares with me what it was like to be on Navarro cheer, how much

hard work went into preparing for and staying on the team, and also her unique experiences as a

member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at a school where she was only one of a few members of her

church.

Hi.

And I'm just so grateful that she is taking the time to talk to me today. So Summer, let's start

off with where you grew up and just kind of your background and like your family and all of

those things for people who don't know you. Okay. So I was born in Gilbert, Arizona. So my family's all down from there.

And I still claim that.

Like I was only there for like since I was like two years old.

But I love to say Arizona because I don't know.

I just love hot weather.
